How to go brushless on a newer xl5 stampede? sorry new to rc and just need to know the correct way. thank you?

You would need a brushless ESC, electronic speed controller, to go with your brushless motor. The XL-5 ESC is not compatible with brushless motors. If you are looking at the Traxxas VXL Velineon system, which is great since it's waterproof, search ebay for a cheap VXL-3s ESC. That's all you need to do! That ESC will run any type of battery, Lipo or NiMH. Hope this helps!
