When going to Calgary, AB from Vancouver, BC is flying or driving cheaper?

There's 3 or 4 of us that want to go to the Calgary Stampede (the beginning of July) and we're going to stay there for a few days, most likely 3. Would buying a plane ticket be cheaper? Or if we all split gas?
